EIUﾃつhas seen an increasing number ofﾃつfaculty-targetingﾃつphishing attemptsﾃつusingﾃつalready established platforms such as Google Docs andﾃつMicrosoftﾃつSharePoint.ﾃつReceiving emails fromﾃつofficial-looking and recognizableﾃつsourcesﾃつmakes it difficult toﾃつdetermine ifﾃつanﾃつemail is legitimate.ﾃつAvoid clicking links or downloading attachments you are not expecting.ﾃつCheck withﾃつyour leadership orﾃつcoworkers before opening anﾃつinviteﾃつto a service or document.ﾃつWhenﾃつin doubt, please submit the message toﾃつphishing@eiu.eduﾃつorﾃつfrom the menu bar in Outlookﾃつselectﾃつﾃ｢竄ｬﾅ笛unkﾃ｢竄ｬﾂ敕つthenﾃつﾃ｢竄ｬﾅ撤hishingﾃ｢竄ｬﾂ.ﾃつ
This year,ﾃつEIUﾃつimplemented multifactor authentication and the platform hasﾃつhelpedﾃつprotect EIU employees and data.ﾃつWhen asked to verify your login,ﾃつpleaseﾃつcontinue to be diligent andﾃつcheckﾃつtheﾃつlocation of the loginﾃつand reactﾃつproperly.ﾃつIf you are not actively logging in and seeﾃつthe location is not nearby, please deny the login, mark asﾃつfraud, change your passwordﾃつat https://password.eiu.edu,ﾃつandﾃつcontact ITS.ﾃつ

- Names throughout the message change.ﾃつ
- Change in normal process of getting the informationﾃつand/or not expecting the document.ﾃつﾃつﾃつ
- Once the link is clicked,ﾃつtheﾃつdocument asksﾃつforﾃつEIU username/passwordﾃつinﾃつaﾃつnon-standard way.ﾃつﾃつEIUﾃつutilizesﾃつhttps://panthermail.eiu.edu/ﾃつfor most loginﾃつsessions.ﾃつ
